چکیده

Three green algae, collected from the Romanian Black Sea coast, are studied: Ulva lactuca, Enteromorpha intestinalis, and Cladophora vagabunda, which were six different coastal areas. This paper aims to identify bioactive compounds of these algae their beneficial properties, in order use them as potential nutraceuticals using analytical methods. Pharmacognostic, microbiological, physico-chemical methods used for analysis algal materials revealed a rich diverse array biocompounds with nutritional value. In case high percentage sulphates, carbohydrates dietary fibers identified. Moisture, ash, total nitrogen, protein lipid contents determined. The pigments, vitamins, metals determined complement qualities three seaweed species studied future nutraceuticals. content flavonoid phenolic identified composition seaweeds justifies antioxidant antimicrobial properties. capacity was tested by means DPPH, reducing power, TEAC methods, exhibit important properties that can be enhance show good antibacterial activity on both Gram (+) (−) bacteria, slightly better bacteria. Biocompounds coast may represent an source marine medical potential.

Heavy Metal Concentrations in Marine Algae from the Turkish Coast of the Black Sea

Macroalgae samples were collected at different stations of the Turkish Black Sea coast in order to establish for concentration of Cu, Cd, Mn, Ni, Pb, Zn and Cr from 2001 to 2003. The levels of the heavy metals in seawater were also measured in 2003 to estimate the degree of accumulation of the each element by algae species. The patterns of heavy metal accumulation rates in decreasing order were

Fatty acids composition of macroalgae from Bulgarian Black Sea coast

Lipids and fatty acids (FA) composition of three Black Sea macroalgae Cladophora vagabunda, Ceramium rubrum and Cystoseira barbata were studied. Fatty acids composition was analyzed by GC/MS. Total lipids content varied widely among the species and ranged between 0.66 and 0.98 g per 100 g fresh weight. Generally, saturated fatty acids were major components (62–71%), with 16:0 as the most abunda...
